after all diamonds are a girls best freiend.
or else take her out to the most romantic place ever and start all over again.
donot talk about the past.
after that flowers and any piece of jewelery and a long walk on the beach or a long drive.
and donot push it on the same day.

If she didn initiate contact and its been a year most likely she just wants to forget you and i don think a gift will help but if you insist get her sumthn meaningful that will remind her of old times

If she hasn't talked to you in a year, then your gift to her should be that you will forget about her. Leave her alone. Sometimes..... when you actually forget, they seem to come back. Just let her go.
