A friend of mine says that he doesn't think the end of the world will happen the way it says in the Bible (and he is a Christian)

Can anyone tell me how to convince him that it will happen the way the Bible says.

Kidnap him, and lock him up in your basement. Keep him tied up, and only give him food and water as a reward for understanding your point of view. Hook electrodes up to him, and shock him every time he disagrees with you. It's what Jesus would have wanted you to do. He'll come around eventually after wallowing in his own urine and feces for a few weeks. You should also keep a TV on, with the VCR looping the Ten Commandments with Charleton Heston over and over again. Read him the book of Revelations repeatedly. Tell him that you'll kill his whole family, if he doesn't accept the rapture. It's a sure-fire way to make that Godless heathen a believer. If he's really a Christian, he'll believe you.

I cannot assure you to you that you can convince your friend, there are some people who really refuse to hear the word of GOD...

>Romans 1:25 They exchanged God's truth for a lie and worshipped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.

CHRISTIANS listen, read the word of GOD

Luke 8:12 The ones on the path are the people who listen, but then the devil comes and takes the word away from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

Although, I will try my best to answer your question - and I will do this Biblically.

Readers of the Bible, and those who understand it without making their own interpretations are blessed.

>Revelation 1:3 How blessed is the one who reads aloud and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep what is written in it, for the time is near!

The Bible is a book about prophecies... it tells how the world is in its present... and most probably the future... earthquakes... wars... famine... false prophets and religions

>EARTHQUAKES, FAMINE, PLAGUES: Luke 21:11 There will be great earthquakes and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be fearful events and awful signs from heaven.

>WARS, EARTHQUAKES, FAMINE: Mark 13:8 For nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes and famines in various places. These things are only the beginning of the birth pains."

FALSE RELIGIONS AND PROPHETS:

>Matthew 24:24 For false christs and false prophets will appear and display great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

>Mark 13:22 For false christs and false prophets will appear and produce signs and omens to deceive, if possible, the elect.

>2 Corinthians 11:13 Such people are false apostles, dishonest workers who are masquerading as apostles of Christ.

And some things the Bible says about itself

>Jeremiah 30:2 Thus speaketh the LORD God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

>Revelation 22:7 "See! I am coming soon! How blessed is the person who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book!"

And since I know that all the things GOD said are true and will happen is because...

>Titus 1:2 which is based on the hope of eternal life that God, who cannot lie, promised before the world began.

I hope that I was able to assist you and your friend as well. Read the Bible - everything is there... and if you have problems...

>1 Peter 5:7 Throw all your worry on him, because he cares for you.

GOD BLESS

If he is a good person then he doesn't need to be convinced. God does not say you have to believe in the apocolypse to be saved.

But if he is not that good of a person and you are trying to turn his life around just tell him he could die tommarrow. People die every day out of the blue. It could be a car accident or many other things. I live in a very small town and still children die every year here. One year it was a hunting accident, next year a couple kids went on vacation, while at a gas station they were shot, and the next year it was 4 teenagers drunk driving.

You never know when it's your time to die.

Well, for starters, the bible says a lot of things about the "apocalypse." There are many contradictions. So what do you mean exactly? Maybe your friend doesn't imagine or fantasize about the world ending the way you would like/fear it to. Are you afraid of somehow losing your friend because of your different beliefs?

Mostly the things told in the Bible are only prophecies. Now, I do believe that most of the prophecies could be literal; but some may only be things to try to explain to us how it will be like.... My e-mail is freddiedelange2006@yahoo.com.
Send me your e-mail, so we can keep contact. I'd like to reseach this with you a bit deeper...maybe we can come up with an answer for your friend.

I am a Christian, and all I have to say is that the bible is a BOOK, and not a terribly big one either...many encyclopaedia's are longer.I believe there is much that has survived intact , in terms of message and intent, but let's be real people--it was written by PEOPLE--ie;fallible human beings(us), with agendas and alliances all too worldly...and translated and interpreted, again , by a whole bunch more of those pesky creatures....
Let's not be blind children, just because we are Christians, and let's think both critically, AND with our hearts, and most of all, let's "do unto others" in the most fundamental sense, and assume they may have just as much to teach us, as we do them, no matter who they are....no--ESPECIALLY if they challenge our most precious beliefs. If the apocalypse is coming, do you want to spend your time with your friend arguing about how? Or do you want to spend your time respecting and loving him, no matter what he believes?(It's just a thought...)

He's a christian and has trouoble believing what God revealed to the prophet Daniel and the Apostle John? He may have bigger fish to fry than end times prophecy! I'd ask him does he believe that God is who he says he is as revealed in the bible...if so, why then not what God has revealed to us? I'd ask him specifics about what he does and doesn't believe, then take him to the scriptures....

Maybe he is just confused because Revelations, the Book that talks about it, uses metaphors. Maybe he is taking it literally.

If not, ask him why he believes that part of the Bible is not true. Once you know why he doesn't believe it, you may better understand how to talk to him about it.

Why do you feel the need to convince him of anything?

If he has a belief - who are you to try and change that?

Sorry but I'm just all for respecting other peoples opinions regardless of what my own may be.
