I often communicate with ex-partners because we are still friends. My wife does the same on occasion. It's quite normal for someone to communicate with an ex because they are still friends and have a history together. My wife's ex became my best surfing buddy who I wouldn't have met if not through my wife's contact with this person. It's a sign of maturity when ex-partners can still be friends and communicate once in a while.

It could very well be a sign that she didn't give herself enough time in between her breakup with her former mate, which shes feels was her fault, and she has never gotten over it. Or, if she is openly communicating with him, that is, on the phone while being aware that you're around, maybe it's something happening on your part, so she does this to either make you jealous, or, is in actuality, hinting at something else.
It could be anything really, just communicate with her and find out. :)

That will also depend on the situation, there are instances when it's just for conversation purposes and that the feeling is completely out. Otherwise, I will feel bad.
