Try taking a long walk about two hours before bedtime, and cut back on the caffeine. If you have a boyfriend, see if you can "persuade" him to give you a neck and foot massage. Warm milk is said to be very effective, though I have not tried it.
Maybe there is something stressing you out, and, though you don't realize it, is causing you not to sleep well. Only you know the answer to that question.
Hope you can get some zzzzzzzzzzzzz's soon.

Yeah I had sleeping problems a while back too, and taking medicine is a bad idea.
What I did was I stopped going into my bedroom unless I was dead tired (usually in the middle of the day after staying up all night). Then I woke up real early one day after about forty-five minutes of sleep, and I made a point to stay awake all day so I would be able to fall asleep quick the next day and reset my circadium rythm. It worked pretty good, so I would try those two things before taking a bunch of medication; because after a while you'll just need more and more pills for the same effect.

It is clear that you are not getting yourself tired out to become tired and need rest. By taking benadryl you are taking the easy lazy route. After some time benadryl will have no effect unless you take two bottles, three bottles etc and thus spoil your health.
Why not go to GYM and do exercise. Why not go for jogging. Why not play tennis. Why not run.why not swim. Any other game outdoor.
Eat well Eat belly full
Dont go to bed Read something Read till your eyes get tired
Dont worry your mind about so many things . WORRY KILLS A CAT.
Ok If need be dont sleep one whole night say Friday night. Automatuically saturday day time itself you will be dead tired and sleepy.

I find that a small dose of Melatonin does the trick. It is a natural substance, your body produces it when you are in the dark. So first be sure that when you are trying to sleep that the TV is off and all the lights also.
As we get older it is harder for our bodies to produce enough of the Melatonin. Fortunately you can find it at the health food store, or better yet at Wal-Mart in their vitamin section.
Take it about 30 minutes before you want to go to sleep. It will not knock you out but it will help you get to sleep. Be sure that you are allowing time for a full 8 hours sleep. This will help you sleep right thru. Sweet Dreams.

Yeah, take 1-2 pills of melatonin an hour before you go to bed. It's an herb and it is not harmful to your health. You can buy it at your local health food store. Forget all that "drink a glass of warm milk" crap. That's not gonna help you unless you're under the age of 12.

Take a long hot bath, then brush your teeth, dry your hair, put on your favorite perfume, then lay down on ur bed with you bathrobe and close your eyes and start dreaming before you sleep. Take yourself to the place you want to in, using your imagination and fantasy, just live the moment tell you sleep. Sweet dreams

Can't sleep means you have a guilty conscience. Something in your conscience is disturbing you to the point your mind tells you to stay awake.
