HELP!!!!!!!please?

Question

has anybody got any ideas how i could make the outside of my school beter so more types of animals could live there, examples are: trees and flowers bushes. i live in vancouver brittish coloumbia

plant some shrubs, bushes, trees, if there is any water around maybe a riparian buffer would be nice. Also, keep the outside clean...maybe some bird baths, houses, or feeders. Simple things like that, but you don't want too many animals because of the kids.

It is so nice of you to be concerned about other animals dear.

Not every cares these days, you see. However, considering that it is a school, you may just want to be wary of the inclusion of a diverse variety of animals, some of which could either be unsafe for the schoolkids or may end up at the receiving end of the children's innocent curiosity. That would really defeat the purpose, I reckon.

If the idea is to get the kids more aware of the world around them, then you could take them to a reserve or zoo, where they would find animals in their natural habitat. Awareness of the animals vis-a-vis their natural environs is far better for the former to develop a love for other creatures.

I know the only way to increase plant and critter life on your landscape is to plant what is natural to the land..look around local hospitals..state owned buildings anywhere there is little or o care on shrubbery and plants...natural .native is always the best..check around..you and the school may find what I call antiques from your citys past..Good luck..

bird bath, not using pesticides on plant-yes they make the grass look Nice but animals that eat off of it get sick and die. Picking up animal waste so diseases are not spread.
