Yes, "Jehovah" is the English translation of the divine name. It's not exactly wrong to call the Almighty by the impersonal "God", just as it's not wrong to call one's offspring "Child". If we want a familiar and close relationship, however, it makes sense to use the personal name of someone we love. The Scriptures encourage us to use God's personal name.
The Hebrew name “Yahweh” (or “Yehowah”) seems to more accurately pronounce the divine name. Yet, just as the Hebrew name “Yeshua” (or “Yehoshua”) is translated into “Jesus” in English, the Hebrew name “Yahweh” is translated into “Jehovah” in English.
The important thing is to use God’s personal name in whatever language you speak, rather than insisting upon the impersonal! The name “Yahweh” is certainly preferable to the non-name “God” or “Lord”, but if you speak English feel free to use the English name "Jehovah" !
(Psalms 83:18) That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the Most High over all the earth
(John 17:26) [Jesus said] I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them

JEHOVAH ( Yahweh 2 ), in the Bible, the God of Israel. "Jehovah" is a modern mispronunciation of the Hebrew name, resulting from combining the consonants of that name,Jhvh, with the vowels of the word adonai, "Lord", which the Jews substituted for the proper name in reading the scriptures.
The second sentence states as a fact that: "Jehovah" is a modern mispronunciation of the Hebrew name"
Yehweh was the name of just the first 4 letters that begot the Hebrew alphabit -- it's real orgin was from a stick figure of man
drawn vertically. Hence man is made in the image of man.

The answer is like people said, Jesus Christ. Not really God, but his son Jesus. But I'll tell you a funny story. About 4 days ago, Im walkin around the house naked and hear a knock at the door. I get some pants on and open it, with no shirt on. It's 2 Jehovah's Witnesses (that is an actual religion). They give me a pamphlet and ask if I can talk to them for a minute. Im like "uhhh, well you know," (Im really thinking that I feel inappropriate half dressed and all), and they just cut me off and start "witnessing" to me. One reads a passage out of the Bible and Im only thinking of how awkward this is and how can I get out of standing shirtless on my front porch talking with them. Then he looks me in the eye and asks "Could ou imagine what living in a world like that would be like?"
I wasn't paying attention and assumed the worst, "Oh yeah...that would be terrible".
"Terrible?"
Confused and feeling guilty I could only come up with "What?"
"Let me read it again to you."
It was something about everlasting peace and love in this orld or something. LOL He went on for 5 more minutes and I couldnt keep a straight face
I swear that just happened
So there's your answer and a true funny story.

Jehovah is our creator. Jehovah is god's personal name. Psalms 83:18. His 4 main attributes are love, wisdom, power, and justice. If you want to know more about Jehovah have a bible study with Jehovah Witnesses.

It is not the name of God, it is a faulty translation of God's memorial name into English.
God's holy name in hebrew is spelled with the letters Yod-Hey-Vav-Hey. To be able to know His name, one must learn hebrew.
His name is Yehu'ah.
And He is the One True God, God Almighty - the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
The whole earth will bow at His name -- Yehu'ah!
