Are you serious? While soda is loaded with sugar and caffeine and contributes to empty calories and cavities, it is not a cause of depression.

If drinking soda is tied to an emotional need/reaction or addiction to sugar, then absolutely.

i think it does because i've been drinking soda alot lately and i've been very depressed since

not like a real chemical depression, but if you cut yourself off after drinking a lot it can give you a sense of not so happiness until you adjust.
just like anything you do that you enjoy when you stop doing it your body still craves it..esp this sugary piled gunk in a can.

unless maybe your parents died years back from falling into a giant vat of coca cola, while you watched them drown. that would make me kind of depressed.
