Of course it is more noticeable with people in relationships...but one reason is that there are 3 types of communication styles and they are quite different:
Visual/site
Feeling/emotion
Sound/word
So feeling people tend to be on a different track than word people.
There is our general gender socialization and the way some of us were brought up to identify with nurturance vs. accomplishment.
I was brought up around and by only women and so I tend to also be "Venus." So, I know what it is like. We learn to understand feelings, needs, caring,..different priorities...
It can be overcome in a relationship through careful and caring communication!
