Marijuana is considered a "gateway drug." What that means is that for most intensive purposes it is relatively harmless... BUT... it leads to other drugs! First the person tries marijuana and of course gets hooked after using it a few times. After they've used it awhile, it takes more than it used to to get the same "high." So, they use more than they used to... and then more again! After some time of using marijuana, it just doesn't give the same "high" that it used to. So, a friend, acquaintance... or lets face it... a dealer... talks them into trying something with a bit more "kick!" Usually this is cocaine, heroin or meth... but might also include some kind of prescription pharmaceutical. Probably the most common of these today is meth. It is easy to make, usually doesn't cost alot... and gives one helluva rush!!! But, beware... there are some "NASTY" ingredients involved in the production of methamphetamines. Example... coleman camping fuel, red devil lye, heet, and anhydrous ammonia... yumm, yumm... doesn't that sound appetizing!!! Have you seen what this combination of chemicals does to the human body? If not... search out some pictures... it'll turn your stomach to see the sores and rotten teeth, etc. Not to mention the fact that it is 100 times more addictive than heroin. Most methamphetamines users get hooked the very first time they use it. The more addictive the drug, the more serious the crimes that are related to their users. Lets face it, users only think about their next "fix!" So, if they don't have the cash to get it... they will find a way to get it!!! Breaking the law will not deter them from getting their fix... be it robbery, theft or just plain old mugging someone... they will do whatever it takes to get their fix!!!

Hmmm, does marijuana sound so "harmless" now??? I think NOT!!!!!!!

marijuana was legal for some health reasons at once , about 3-4yrs. ago , some medical problems it was used for was GLAUCOMA, AIDS, CANCER, & CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS , IT WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE SOME WERE SHARING IT WITH FRIENDS OR SELLING IT , IT ISN'T RIGHT TO THE PEOPLE WHOM NEEDED IT & WASN'T DOING ILLEGAL THINGS WITH IT BUT ALL GET PUNISHED FOR A FEW PEOPLES MISTAKES. ALSO I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THE GOVERMENT HAS BEEN GROWING IT & PACKAGING IT LIKE A PACK OF CIGARETTES FOR MANY YEARS . THE PROBLEM WITH MAKING IT LEGAL IS THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THE MOST TAXES FROM IT BY THE PACK, WEIGHT, OR SELLING IT BY THE BAGGIE WAY LIKE IT IS SOLD ON THE STREETS . AS FOR MARIJUANA BEING ADDICTIVE, & PEOPLE KILLING , ROBBING, ETC. THAT ISN'T TRUE . I RECENTLY READ ABOUT RESEARCH THAT HAS BEEN DONE ON IT & IT SHOWS NO THINGS LIKE I SAID ISN'T TRUE WAS IN THERE , THE ONLY THING IT SAID ON A NEGATIVE BASIS WAS IT COULD CAUSE SHORT TERM MEMORY LOSS IN DAILY SMOKERS .

At one time they were legal, but then the government figured out that people were abusing them, by taking more than the recomended dose. An dto much caused people to become out of control and kill themselves and others. Then they banned it but it still exists.
