Actually they are kinda right, but studies have shown that people lose more weight by eating little portions at each meal but actually eating around 6 times a day, don't make them a complete meal and drink water more than pop.
exercise will also help but you have to have determination and discipline....... which i don't have either i weight 2 much and need to lose 115 pounds to be a my "goal weight" i am right now at high risk for type 2 diabetes and heart disease my family has a weight problem but i want to correct my problem ASAP my father didn't listen to his doctors and ate whatever he wanted by the time he was 35 he had a heart attack and by 46 he died from heart disease and he had high blood presser and diabetes, (that was all related to his weight) I know its like i am preaching to you but i am just trying to get a point across, you don't want to end up like that or with diabetes....... i am starting on a diet my self and after about a month of saying ill start my diet "Tomorrow" I need to take action because tomorrow has come and gone! good luck, you know what actually motivated me? I made a bet with my uncle on who could lose the most weight in 6mo and the winner get treated to dinner at a nice restaurant!
so bring on the challenge i will do one with you if you would like, if not do it with a family member or close fried!!

Drink lots of water, don't drink anything that is empty calories like sodas.
Exercise- Walking is an excellent exercise if you're not use to doing anything. Do active things you enjoy.
Take all the tempting foods that are bad for you out of your house. Replace with fresh fruits and vegetables. Chose lean meats such as fish, chicken, and turkey.
Switch to whole wheat breads.
Try to exercise at least 3-5 times a week. Add strength training to boost your metabolism.
Find an accountability partner. If someone is encouraging you, you're more likely to stick with it.
Most of all, have a cheat day. It's almost impossible to always stay on a diet and having a cheat day will trip up your metabolism. Just remember to do everything in moderation and not get too off track on this day.

The best way to loose weight is to eat less crap, eat more quality foods and move more. Weight lifting, even small weights, is best because your body continues to burn calories while you are not lifting. Also, take some long walks and contemplate what food is for you, is it a crutch, a reward, a friend. Being healthy is really the best bet. Pills and fads will only do damage to your young body. Decide what quality foods you are going to eat and plan for them. Allow a few guilt free splurges, or find alternatives.
lower calories + burn calories. Oh, and find a good multi vitamin. Oh, and find a friend to work out with, it makes it more fun, but don't allow them to be a crutch if they aren't there, just keep on move'n.

Moderation, Moderation is the key to a successful diet. Weight Watchers is the best. On your own ask doc first.
Exercise regularly, eat simple meals with all the food groups. As you gradually lose weight then start increasing exercise. Patience is the hardest. As you loose you will gain as well. The body thinks you are starving it and it will hold the extra weight.
Weight training, swimming and bike riding are excellent ways to lose weight. Have fun with it.

Learned from my sisters and mom. They are from Spain. They have a medditerrean diet. In the summer they make fresh Gazpacho evry morning and have it any time they want.
Skinless breast of chicken , with a half canned peach on top of it broiled in the oven.
No bread, dairy or meats. Pick out several types of lettuce, croutons, fresh veggies and make your own dressings with Balsamic vinegar, raspberry vinegar..ect, and always use a tea spoon of cold pressed vigin olive oil.
Always keep cut up veggie stick in the criper so when you want to munch, they are there for you and the secret to snaking like that is to make your own fat-free dips. get experimental with seasonings and spices, herbs.
People who come from parts of the world where their meals are spiced full od flavour and eat colorful foods are always slim, without trying. It will keep the weight off for ever too. Experiment with small amounts of spices , herbs for dressings and dips. The stomach is full when all the other senses are taking in full flavours, many varieties. In North America, we have food that is bland for the most part, so it dulls our senses and we end up eating until our guts are huge. It's not satisfying to eat a lot and still be hungry. Spice things up. From the liast of meals and snack tips I gave you, add a little something different every week or every 3 days to your salads,fish dishes, snacks. Lots of fresh fruits. Canned Salmon. No Tuna.You will never get bored and you may even stumble across a great recipie people would love to buy.-LOL-tony.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming,running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions,pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull,leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

Exercise every day, even if it's just a walk. Go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet. Eat fish, eggs, chicken, occasional lean beef or pork, low fat cottage cheese. Stay away from regular cheese, no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, peas, beans (except green beans). No fruit and no fruit juice (it's sugar water, my dr says). Cut down on carrots and tomatoes (included ketchup). Use mustard instead of mayonnaise in recipes. Eat lots of salads, green vegetables. Salads only have one tablespoon of dressing for the whole salad. No ice cream, or other desserts. 8 glasses of water a day. No caffeine

Eat less, and do more exercise, there is no magic, to losing weight. You must burn more calories a day, doing exercise, then you are consuming, eating your daily allotment of food. If you burn more, then you are taking in, you will lose weight. It is that simple. People will try to tell you about all kinds of crazy diets, and exercise programs, but none of them work in the long run.
