Where can I find/purchase a bicyle for a heavy male who is hard on bikes?

Have you considered a recumbent bicycle? You might have seem them around. You sit on a real seat with backrest rather than a narrow bicycle seat. They traditionally are favored by bikers as they age and heavier people but are becoming increasingly popular with all people.

For one thing they don't have the same problems arising from sitting on a narrow seat. They can have some other temporary symptoms: instead of getting numb hands and butt you can get numb toes from having your feet elevated.

They are comfortable and relaxing and come in all shapes and sizes. It might be the perfect thing for a heavier man who really like his biking.

One thing though - recumbents are road bikes. They don't have the weight shifting capability of mountain bikes. So if you are a mountain biker, this probably won't work.

Do not, I repeat do not get a box store or department store bike. With luck it may make it from cashier to your car before colapsing in the cheap worthless ill put together piece of trash it is ;-)

Find a local bike club to talk to, talk to your local bike shop and good luck riding it's wonderful exercise.

Their advice and service will actually save you money over a department store bike!!

I'm fairly sure that any adult mountain bike or cruiser will do fine.
So any department store you have close by, or a local bike shop.

Try Ebay.Find the brand of Raleigh,Gazelle,Hercules,Simplex,the old type.The brands is well known for having the weight for even 150kgs for decades.
