Smarter than u

Very smart. My cat knows when I wake up and is always sleeping on my bed at that time, probably trying to convince me he sleeps there all night. Also if I sleep too late he knows it and starts meowing, it is probably just for attention but he is like a back up alarm clock. Also he knows his name so he is just as smart as a dog but he wont come if he thinks you are about to put him in the house - i think that is smart

We once had a cat that learned to open the doors in the house. The landlord had asked us if we wanted the keys to lock the internal doors and we told him no. He had a good laugh when we went to him and asked for the keys. He knew it was because of the cat! We lived in Turkey, where the doors have handles. Unlike the round knobs we have in the U.S.

Truly depends on the cat. I've known cats who can open doors, tell time, and guard toy boxes with ferocity. I've also known a cat who thought it was perfectly ok to sleep in the middle of the road- hence how he eventually met his demise.

Not very. Cats are good at three things -- chasing down a mouse, catching a bird, and reproducting.
Other than that, they're not very bright.

My current cat and my former knew when I called their names. My mother was surprised, said she didn't think they knew their names like dogs did.But they know what their taught if it's taught with positive repetition, from natural affection and daily influence. My cat observes everything and responds to all of our behaviors. They learn to live with/respond to people.

Smart enough to sense when it's time to eat and bother you until you feed them. Smart enough to make you pet them by rubbing against your legs. Smart enough for you to cuddle them by purring. Smart enough to refuse to go in the litter box until you clean it. Smart enough to stare at you and lick you in the face until you wake up to let them out.Smart enough to bring home a mouse to let you know he's on the job.Smart enough to get you to play with them when your trying to watch T.V.and finally, smart enough to jump in your lap and let them know how much they love you.

The problem is that we are not fully certain, as the cat will do what it wants to do when it wants to do it.
