PLEASE DO NOT GIVE TYLENOL TO YOUR CAT!!!! Ignore the advise that someone else posted on here about giving Tylenol! It is extraordinarily toxic to cats at any dose!!
Why is your cat painful in the first place? I would not advise medicating your cat unless you have seen a veterinarian and they have prescribed something for your cat.
1/2 baby aspirin is safer for occasional use in a cat over 8 lbs, but it should never be used without a veterinarian's recommendation or in lieu of a vet examination. Please be extremely cautious giving anything to your pet from your own medicine cabinet.

I have given a dog aspirin, but it was much larger than a cat. I think that it could have damaging effects on a cat's little heart. The best bet is to call a vet, or even an emergency animal hospital that might be open late and ask.

Its generally not a good idea to give your cat aspiring- because its difficult to determine what is the best dosage for them. And cats metabolize aspirin VERY SLOWLY- up to 72 hours (depending on which pet site you go to)... In fact, if your cat is unable to get the drug out of it's system quickly enough, it may die.
Basically: Never give aspirin to a cat, unless under the direct supervision of your veterinarian, and follow the dosage instructions exactly.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR CAT ASPIRIN OR TYLENOL. Ask your vet about pain meds. Also, your vet could deal with the cause of the pain rather than just treating the symptoms.

NO! Even a small dose can kill a cat. Local pet stores have pain killers made specifically for pets. Check some of those out before you give your cat anything.

NO!!! NEVER give an animal a pill except if it came from the vet.
The strength of the pill will be too much for the cat it would fall asleep, and most likely, never wake up again.

Only if you want to take a chance of killing it, call a vet, it's worth it. You could also look on a web site for cats, try this one:
