i left because i don't believe in the God portrayed by chritianity. every sect of christianity want's everyone to believe in their interpretation of the bible and live their lives as that particular sect sees fit or you'll go to hell. i'll tell you what i do believe in. i believe in a spirit. i have faith in the universe. and i have NO RIGHT to shove it down anyone elses throat. so please, don't wish me to "run back to Him" . i see the holy in every day life, i walk my talk, i live a good life, i respect others and do my best to help anyone in need. i want the lady in the mini van, with the christian fish on the back, who cut me off in traffic to walk her talk outside of sunday service. (by the way, she was the 5th person with a christian fish and at least 1 christian bumpersticker to cut me off during a 20 mile drive. that's 1 person every 4 miles). here is something for you to think about. christianity has pagan DNA. go read your history and find out how christianity took over europe. don't read some church sanitized version....go find the history and then talk about christianity to me. tell me why i should have respect for ANY religion who kills in the name of it's god. tell me why i should follow any religion that turns it's back on mass genicide. as far as i'm concerned, christianity created hell, it's their hell and they can just go ahead and burn in it.

I realized one day that God is not real, and i really think religion is just something made up by some guy so he can get people to act in a way that he wants. I mean the church always makes up what's a sin and what's not, i mean the most rediculous is during the Little Ice Age when the Church said eating a potato was a sin!! i mean come on! And i just find the Bible and the whole religion thing rediculous, i don't need people telling me what's wrong and right, I know there's nothing wrong with having sex with a condom, and eating a potato is evil. I'n not like some people who will make fun of people because they're christians, for i respect that, and it gives the person hope and happiness.
But Christianity doesn't give me that. I've got hope and happiness knowing that i have family and my love protecting me and not some God that doesn't exist.

I am an ex Christain. I used to be naive and believe that the BIble was written by God. But then I grew up. I realized that the story of Jesus was stolen from earlier Pagan stories. I realized that the idea of an omnipotent being was unrealistic and childish. I realized that the God portrayed in the Bible could not be omnipotent by his actions.
I realized that the concept of absolute evil was also childish and unrealistic.
I also grew to resent the attitudes of Christians who are arrogant enough to presume that their hodge podge mediocre excuse for a religion could be the ONE and ONLY WAY. Obviously not.
I realized that Constantice used the texts in the BIble he wanted to gain control of his people and unify them under one religon with enough Catch 22's to last for a millenium.
It placed a middle man between the people and their divinity. That middle man, being human, used his power to gain more power and squash those who threatened said power. Hence people who followed the Old Religion. This is where the Malleous Mallifarcum (The Witches Hammer) came into play.
I'm sorry you are so closed minded.
See you in 2042

The truth. I was disappointed with the Church. The most vocal groups of the Catholic Church instead of giving faith or spiritual guidance, spend time criticizing and judging people (something only God should do).
They judge, divorcees, people that have sex with condoms (even if they don't want diseases or don't want more kids. Not everyone have the means to raise 19 kids), people that have sex out of the wedlock, single parents, adulterers, homosexuals. They are judging people that just want to be happy.
They treat women as if they were less than man. They treat other cultures as "savages", they protest over a movie when kids are dying in Sudan.
And then the raping of the boys scandal. And please don't come saying that it was less than 1% of 10%. One kid raped is one too many. Of course evil people are everywhere, including in the parish, but what was unacceptable was the fact that the Church knew about it and did nothing, because moving a priest to another parish is NOTHING compared to what should be morally done.
To put it in a short way: The Church disappointed me, and looks very hypocrite .
I still believe in God, but not in the Church

No spiritual connection, and I disagreed with some of the things that the Bible taught (the importance of women, for example) and the hypocricy I saw every day both at home and out about in the world. I decided to look around and see if anything fit my personal beliefs more, and I found Wicca. I don't condemn those who are still Christian, though, unless they're not doing what the Bible teaches. In that case, I despise them as much as I despise any hypocrites.

I studied religion in college.
After reading many holy books, they seem all the same. And very unbelieveable. Most religions start out the same way, with a charasmatic leader, and about 10-12 followers. After the Charasmatic leader dies, the followers try to spread the words of the leader around and repeat the actions(like a ritual).
Sound familiar? It should.

I used to be a Christian but I turned to being a Wicca, then I went back to being a Christian. I realized finally that Christianity just isn't right for me and I'm now Pagan (and proud of it). I turned away because it didn't feel right to me and my beliefs were far too different than Christian beliefs (some of my current beliefs are based on Christianity). BTW: I'm not planning on turning back to Christianity because being Pagan feels right to me and I know that it will lead me to the right path. Blessed be.

I am a believer. (Jesus is One and Only Son of God. Only way by which we can be saved from eternal hell)
People that were, and are not now;the Holy Spirit is using situations, people, etc. to renew your faith, and draw you into maturity in Christ.
Repent and pray for strength in your unbelief to stand firm in your faith. Persevere and wait for God. He will be praised whether you do or not, but He does love the world and would not have any perish except by your free will to reject so great a salvation.
MARANATHA!

I was a Christian, in many forms, for a long time. I tried really hard to believe, I did, but it just did not happen. I'm happier being agnostic than I ever was tied to a religion and hoping to believe.
