on craigslist.com i contacted a person who works for a/as broker and wants to sell me discounted tickets for my upcoming trip.
Las Vegas to Sacramento.
He said he will show me a pic on line then I wire money. If I use pay pal it may cost more as it takes 3 days to process with pay pal.
Is this safe? HAVE YOU DONE THIS?
Thanks...
Suzie

That is a total scam. Never use an unknown source. Buying "cheap" can bite you in the a$$. Airline travel is the cheapest it has ever been. You can use consolidator websites like Hotwire, Cheap Tickets, Priceline etc. But be aware that they are very very restricted and have a lot of rules. You can not change them for any reason. They offer rediculous connections and routes sometimes and its safest to book directly with the airlines, the prices are usually close to what you will find if not exact compared to any other website and sometimes cheaper. Plus you know what you are buying and where it comes from.

No matter what website you used, READ THE FARE RULES. Know what you are buying before you purchase it. But, NEVER go through someone that uses paypal for airline travel. If it is a live person, use a reputable travel agent.

i would advise against buying any tix where you need to wire money to someone. Can very easily be a scam; you'll never get the tix or your money back. I don't know how to always get the lowest prices but if you use any of the long established travel web sites you won't get ripped off. I usually use the airlines websites and look for specials.

Suzie, go to Priceline.com or Travelvolocity.com I have used both and have had no problem. As a recommendation do buy the travel insurance from both if you use them that maybe 15 per ticket but it covers everything and you get your money back..Good luck

Anything from a direct person can be questionable. Hotwire.com has pretty good rates.
