If you feel like you cant go a day without alcohol, then yes it is bad. It is an addictive substance, and will only get worse. I lived with alcoholism in my family for years and it is no fun. Get some help now before it gets worse. Go to some AA meeting, get some counseling, or if it is real bad, get some info on rehab. But you HAVE to want to quit or it will not work. It is not healthy mentally or physically! Go to you doctor and tell him/her how much you drink and how often. THey can help you set up a course of action to get you some help. Dont do it alone, you will need support. Good Luck!

Yes. The disease is called 'alcohol dependence'. Treatment in the form of detoxification and rehabilitation is available and effective. Medication such as Campral decrease craving and relapse.
You could have underlying depression worsened or depression caused by alcohol. Effective treatment is available for this too.
Unfortunately the very nature of the disease is such that any answer including my own would make little difference to you until you hit rock bottom.

If so, you can actually "replace" alcohol with water. Cause they taste the same. Don't believe? Drink the water and think it's alcohol. It's all in the mind my friend. Mind power. There's no such thing as cannot get by without something. If you say you can't live without oxygen, that I believe. Apart from that, NONE.

Yes! Alcohol is a beverage. It can be addictive, and highly dangerous to yours and other people's heath. It causes psychological and behavioral problems, organ failure (liver), in some cases malnutrition, and impaired motor skills that lead to events like car collisions to name a few horrible things.

If you're unhappy, you should not fix it with a drink. There are reasons behind your emotional and tangible problems. Work out steps to goals that lead you out misery; get help, if you need to. With someone to push you, you're much less likely to cocoon yourself from the world.

There's hope out there. There's Hope reaching His arms out to you. Not everything is gumdrops and lollipops, so you must cling to a stable Rock. That Shield will never leave you if you accept Him.

"needing" is a strong word. "everyday" is too often. During the day would be pretty serious and that's not clear from your question, whether you're drinking during or at the end of the day. You're on a path to self-destruction regardless. Careful. Look into why you're miserable. Try and find healthier coping mechanisms, and maybe it is time to join AA.

I really don't drink, but have known several true Alcohoolics. Need it is trouble. Getting help, if you want can be tough. Too often all who abuse alcohal are treated alike and they aren't. It takes a lot of guts to change it. Many do and some on their own. It killed my father in law. Don't let it get you. If you HAVE to have alcohal, it's trouble. If you want it real bad, it is, but may be like me and Peanut Butter - I crave the stuff!!! Best of luck!

I would say that it's a problem...Alcohol used to mask other problems is a bigger problem than the problem you are trying to mask. You need to realise it for the problem it is and get some help but you also need to work on those issues that you are trying to mask with alcohol. Good luck with it!

Life can't really be that bad...can it? A few drinks after a hard long day...isn't a problem. However, if you need it in order to make it through the day, you should seek help.
