okay so i have this pretty good friend, recently we've been hanging out more. yesterday he came over to my house and we had a movie day, watched three movies in a row. after the first one, a horror movie, he said "im sorry i just need someone to hug when im freaked out" and held me while we decided on a second movie- and when we said goodbye we hugged like three times, cause we are both going away for half the summer. so i guess it isnt a big deal, but i dont randomly hug guys that much, and during the movie we were sitting really close.. is there something there or am i just crazy?

Honestly, from a guy, he's probably thinking about how many steps through your clothes to get to your breasts. Or if you would freak if he kissed you or slipped his hand in your pants. Men are pretty simple to figure out. We think about sex about 90% of the time we aren't thinking about sports or our cars. He may just be a) too scared to make a move, or b) doesn't want to ruin the friendship by trying to make a move. I would say I am about 87.66753% certain he was thinking about sex in some way.

Hugging is cool. My mother encouraged hugging and made it special. Your guy friend may have had a mother like mine and felt the need to put his arms around you. Hugging is safe and a great way to express each other without words. I personally think that getting that close, gives you an opportunity to smells their skin and that wonderful feeling of a woman or eachother.
I think he needed to be connected to someone. Maybe in his heart he is going to miss you this summer. I'd say,"roll with it" and good luck. He maybe a genuine friend.

Might be. It's a "time will tell" situation. It may be a good thing that you'll be apart for a good part of the summer. You'll both have time to meet other people and think about how you feel about eachother. Can you email, snail mail, talk on the phone, etc, while you're apart? The frequency of those contacts will tell you a lot!

Probably not. and maybe you should just ask him. Guys are so freaked out by doing things like cuddling because they've been taught to think it's the prelude to sex and unfortunatley, a lot of girls have bought into that lie too. So, stop trying to read something into what happened and just ask.

Well, He might like you--- But do you want to have a relationship with him? And you're not a mind reader Nor am I sooo....You can't tell what he's thinking. He might want to take things slow and get to know you better before he asked you on a date or something, But if you want to know his true intentions, Talk to him about it.

you're not crazy, but guys don't usually say something they don't mean. so at first it could have been just that... but it could also be a sign that he does care about you.
best bet? ask him. obviously he cares enough about you (as a friend) to hang out, and he wasn't complaining about holding you either.

Maybe he should have kissed you, I bet he wanted to, he does like you, so call him up before you leave and ask him to come over and kiss you!
