pauvres: po-vruh (It's important to break the syllables between the vowel and the "v", not after the "v")

engagement: a(n)-gazh-ma(n) (The letter "n" is not pronounced here; instead, the vowel preceding it is nasalized) - it has various meanings, including: "kickoff", "commitment", "agreement", "recruitment" or "enlistment"

stades: stahd - it means "stadiums"

roads = rues: ryu (pronounced like "roo" but with the lips puckered a little); "route" (pronounced "root") is okay, too, but it implies a larger, more industrial road like a highway, rather than a dusty side street

Rather than saying "Le foot est joué dans les rues d'Afrique," it sounds more authentic to say "En Afrique, on joue au foot dans les rues."

Pauvres - the poor (pronounce as 'pov+ruh')

Stades = Stage-setting/stadium (pronounce as 'staad' the 'aa' makes the 'ah' sound)

Engagement = Engagement, commitment (pronounce 'en+gay+zh+mon')

Roads = Routes (pronounce 'hroot')

Streets = Rue(pronounce 'rew')

Soccer is played in the roads of Africa = Le football est joué dans les routes de l'Afrique

In the above context it should be 'streets of Africa' and not 'roads of Africa'

Cheers

Pauvres (poves)
engagement (on-guj-mon) (do not drop your tongue to pronounce the n's, they are halfway pronounced) - this word means "committment"
stades (pronounced much like it looks, but pronounce the a "ah" as in "star". The meaning is "stadiums"
Roads- "routes" in french, but in this case you may be able to use "rues", which is normally translated streets. Routes for this phrase sounds like they are playing soccer on a main highway.
Your whole sentence translated is, "Le foot est joué dans les rues en Afrique." or "Le foot est joué sur les routes en Afrique."
