No, you don't. You were asked to the wedding and he is your guest. Since the couple doesn't know him, it is not necessary.
If he insists on being included in the card, he should sign his own name. Don't get in the habit of signing his name for him. It will last a lifetime.

I wouldn't.
He is at the wedding to be there "for you," not for them. I would make sure he says congrats and Thanks for allowing him sharing in their blessed day.
But adding a name to a personal message that may or may not be in the picture...plus your friends may want to keep what you said.
In my opinion... I looked for a resource to back up my opinion... but couldn't find anything.
On a point if your BF feels a certain way about things take that into account. If you buy a gift and he chips in make sure his name is on the package.
But Cards that hold personal messages can be from a single person.
Even when I was married... I gave cards with just my name. It depended on the people involved.

If you are a serious couple and he's coming to the wedding then yes. If you're that unsure ask him if he wants his name on the card. If he says I dunno or whatever you think then add it. If he says why or no, kick him in the *** and sign for him anyway.

Ask him to sign, since it would be awkward if they thanked him for his kindness and had no clue what they were talking about. If he declines find out his reasoning, deciding another feelings is definitely a way to offend anyone.

I would. My brother always includes his current "squeeze" on any gift card he signs.
