My new laptop only had a 6 month trial version of Office and now all my word & excel docs are read only. Cheap or what? I need to access them but dont have the £250 to get them from M'soft. Please help!

Get Open Office

Ask a friend to burn you a copy of their version (make sure to get their serial number or else you'll be stuck with CDs you can't install!)

If you don't have any friends with their own copy (or friends at all) stealing would be the next free choice. Limewire or BitTorrent would be the best way.

Also there's free software online that are clones of Microsoft Office and are compatible with Office files but I can't remember their names.

no, it is not cheap, they let you use an expensive software for 2 months free to see if you want to buy it, why do you consider that being cheap? If you want to use it you will have to buy it, if you download id somewhere, the activation keys do not work and you can't use it anyway, no matter that it is illegal

umm..if u noe a computer geek..that has microsoft office..then let hers install it to urs for free..like..umm idk..its kind of like that..i got mine from my friend..so yeha..
