God itself is not supposed to come to earth, God was never a person, according to Christian teaching at least. His son Jesus is supposed to return at the Apocalypse, but not God. I'm not sure about the God in other religions though.

He will return to the earth when the great tribulation period is over. Matthew 24: 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: Matthew 24: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Only God knows but in the Bible there were things that would happen leading up to it and alot of those things are coming to pass. Ive listed a good website that lists a few of the things that have already been put into action.
