I just recently (as in 5 seconds ago) started thinking about Speech Pathology as a career. Before that (5 seconds ago) I was certain that I wanted to do Health Care Administration. But I also plan to join the Air Force and I know that I can do the Health Care in the USAF. But are there oppurtunities for speech pathologists in the Air Force??? Please help!

I'm studying to be a speech path, and I'd say you'd have much more luck with audiology in the air force or military in general. speech, while not limited to these areas, are more often for children or people affected by strokes, mental disorders, etc. not the usual military person. However, audiology and speech pathology are often grouped together for a portion of the time and audiology is MUCH more prelevent in the military.. all those guns and loud planes and everything. look into that!

You don't specify what your age is, what your current college status is, or any other pertinent information, so I can only give you the generalities.

All the military branches have all sorts of doctors. So, if you go to school, become a speech pathologist, you can join the military (as an officer) and be a speech path for the military. We also have a need for such physicians.
