Give them Tylenol or Advil, Child pain relievers.
Solarcaine is also very good.

The reason a rug burn usually hurts is that it is similar to an abrasion. An abrasion hurts when exposed to air. So to end the pain, put some neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment on the area and cover it with a bandaid or non-stick dressing. The pain will go away almost immediately.

Try using the pain relieving form of neosporin (an anit-biotic ointment) and then just apply a bandaid on top for several days. After that, one night leave it uncovered and dry while she sleeps, so that it can scab over, and then it shouldn't hurt anymore, or at least not too terribly bad.

Try icing the injury area for a while to help with the pain. Burn otintment could help but remember it's an abrassion she has there, not too bad.

I hope this helps for the pain. I hope your child feels better.

Try an aloe vera lotion. It still is a burn similar to a sunburn.
