Are the odds really random or is it all a set up. I was gambling the other day on electronic black jack and it lets me win once then gives itself three black jacks in a row. This can't be real! It slowly eats your money it planned!

They don't NEED to cheat. Suckers just walk in and give them money all day long, and all they have to do is take it.

Games aren't "rigged" but ALL games odds favor the house. Meaning that statistically, the more you gamble, the more you Will lose

First of all, don't play electronic Blackjack, play the tables. With all purely electronic games, the casino can set the odds anywhere they want within regulations. That's why you hear people talking about loose vs. tight slot machines. Electronic games are predictable as it is impossible to generate a completely random number in any computer, but only the casino and the state regulators know the exact house advantage. With the table games however, everyone knows how many cards are in the shoe and the house advantage with each game (If you look hard enough). No casino game is truely random, but the playing field is at least tilted about the same at any table you go to, and you know just how tilted it is.

Finally, If casinos get caught cheating, they can lose their license. Do you really think that casinos will risk millions of legally won dollars a year from poor saps like you and me in order to skim a little extra off the top? I don't think so.

In response to the extra details, There are laws on the books that regulate how tilted a slot machine can be. If casinos program their slots to be too tight, and the regulators come in, pull the board, check the programming, and catch them, the casino can be fined or even shut down. Therefore, its not cheating, as long as they don't get too greedy.

If you are talking about casinos in the US it is highly unlikely that any would have a policy of cheating. For starters, the house has an automatic advantage on every game. You best odds are with blackjack followed by craps. Video porker is also a good game. This assumes that you know the correct strategy in each of these games.

Another reason to "trust" the casinos, at least the non Indian controlled ones, is that the individual state boards that oversee legal gambling are extremely competent. Any casino found deliberately cheating would be out of business.

This is common knowledge among Baccarat Players.

Casino shuffler: It shuffles the cards and puts them in the exact order that the casino wants them. ie the shuffler can read the cards which gives the casino a tremendous advantage over the player.

They will figure out what the high limit players like to bet on and shuffle the cards to beat them.

video poker seems to be loose, but takes forever. The federal gaming commission spot checks the machines and tests the random number generators. Nothing is random in physics but they are set to be fair. There's something like a 2 percent profit but you could win the jackpot at anytime.

No, I don't think they cheat, but the odds are never in your favour. They are a business like any other, and are in it to make money. In the long run, they will always win.
