Ok, some of my friends are worried abt me b/c I like eat 1 meal and a snack a day! Isn't that CRAZY?!? I mean that is a LOT of food! i need to lose like 10 pounds. I've lost 10 lbs already since April.I weigh like 119! People are always calling me anorexic! Even my MOM! What should I do? I mean i don't want to start eating even more just so tehey will lay off! They are my friends and i don't want to get mad at them for caring about me!

I don't eat but like 1 meal a day and for some reeason my friends think that that means i'm anorexic! I mean I think I'm fat but my mom told me if I lost any more weight I'd be too skinny. I've taken diet pills and stuff like that too. (my mom doesn't know that) I've lost like 10 pounds since April. I need to lose more weight but I don't want people to call me anorexic...maybe I am anorexic! I've tried being bulimic but that didn't work out to well for me. I know my friends are just being good friends but how do I get them to stop calling me anorexic without having to eat a lot?

I would just eat healthy, eating one big meal and a snack a day is not good, many small meals is good.

Funny I thought I was the only one with this issue.
My story goes like such..
I've come to the States to study..I was very active before I got here and used to eat like crazy and never put on weight as my job was outdoors and very physical.
Now I'm in a classroom all day for 8 hrs a day all week and it has been 14 months so far..well after Christmas
( Yes the Jolly Season ) I noticed I had put on 15 pounds
( No idea where it came from! )
So before I went back to College I decided that because I was not getting exercise and sitting around all day I didn't need to have 3 meals a day...
So I have changed to 1 meal a day...which I have at 3 pm..but believe me I eat so much it's like all 3 meals in 1 !
I don't get dizzy or any crazy stuff like that, I lost the weight and have returned to the ideal where I was.
I make sure all the food groups are there and so the "Triangle" food groups are there.
I have never been a breakfast eater anyways.
I too had uphill and hard times from family members here but I pretty told them that it is my body and I would know if there was something wrong or wasn't feeling well...which there's no problem there.
All I can say is that they don't understand what they have not tried..besides it's your choice and your life.
What I must say is that you must adjust if you start losing TOO much weight/under ideal weight target or start feeling unwell/weak/tired and so on and so on...I'm sure you've heard it all already! LOL

I must say that the pills and not eating may cause a complication if you are not carefull..and for God's sake refrain from being bulimic..you are certainly asking for trouble..you may as well go on a hunger strike for 2 months and most definitly reach your "Ideal" weight...ask Terry Schiavo..

from the stuff that you wrote, you are anorexic. you "think" you're fat when you aren't. you're even taking diet pills already....

let me tell you what is going on when you eat only one meal a day. have you heard of "metabolism"? when you starve yourself, your body adapts because it realizes that it's not getting enough nutrients and calories. so your whole body slows down. if it kept burning calories at the same rate, it would run out of energy and eventually start burning muscle.

so, once you lose those last 10 lbs, and you try to eat normal again, that weight will come back very fast since your body is not expecting all the calories.

you know your mom and friends wouldn't say anything to hurt you. why don't you listen to them?!

i think that your parents/ Friends may have reason to be concerned. i just want to say one thing. people can be concerned that your going to be a salamander in the morning but that's fine.
next thing you should think about is are you or are you not.
if you are loosing weight because your doctor told you to then fine. good for you.
if not, then you might have issues. i don't think you are anorexic but you might be self conscious to the point of action.
if you want to loose weight and get them off your back do this:
eat granola and some dry cheerios in the morning.
at lunch time eat a spinach salad with mango slices in it with a flavored water.
then at dinner eat a small portion of what your mom/dad/caretaker made for you.
you will still loose as much weight. trust me. the only difference is :
a.)no hair loss
b.)no worried friends/family
c.)energy!
d.)no medical issues
e.) lookin like a hottie in a swimsuit

I'm right around where you are.
I'm 114lbs. and I'm 5'2. this is what i do and now I'm loosing weight. when my friends ask i say I'm being healthy because i read in teen people that if you are healthy you are less likely to get acne or something like that.
which isn't a lie.
its true about less likely for zits.
and i don't want any.

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming,running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions,pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull,leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

Its not good to only eat 1 meal a day. You should really be eating every four hours. Not big meals but 3 healthy meals and snacks in between like fruit etc.

well u most probably are anorexic.
i have a fren who i guess went thru the same ting ur goin thru, n cuz we were stopping here, she avoided us, got addicted to tis not eating habit, n became stick skinny.
trust me after tat she had to go for like psychiatrict treament to get her back to normal.

control ur diet but dont go overboard. 1 meal a day is tooo little. i have two meals a day, skip dinner, but have sum fruits or sumting. live healthy girl.

you need to eat enough food in a day to get proper nutrition, eating only one meal a day is not healthy as your body goes into starvation mode and then when you do eat,it stores it. the better option is to eat alot of fruit and veg, a little carb, fish, beans, salad etc, cut out meat, oil and takeaway.

i think you are. if you want to lose weight eat healthier and exercise a bit more, but make sure you eat properly EVERYDAY!!!
besides if you dont think you are not fat then you are not.
