Does anyone have an answer? ( I am being serious )?

I was diagnosed with cancer of the larynx in its final stages in April 2000. I was by error given twice the amount of radiation a human can take in his lifetime, I then had to have a tracheostomy as I had refused the removal of my voice box. I then landed up with Peritonites which almost killed me. I then had a major fungal infection behing my brains at my nape of the neck - another life taking threat. I then began bleeding non stop from my mouth, nose, throat and the doctors got my family together for last good byes. I always bounced back. I as on date breathe through a hole in my throat called a "stoma" and have not even had a sip of water in the last six years as both the food and air passages have closed down. I feed through a tube inserted in my stomach called a "peg". I am a fitness freak and work out for an hour everyday and run a good 4 km. Can anyone try and explain why am I still alive? I mantain my health, am physically fit and work normally and do not feel handicaped.

To add a little more - I know/knew a lot of people with my condition and none have ever survived. Even the doctors have no clue as to how I am alive after all that I have been through.

Thanks for the answers - What I have penned is the absolute truth and I am not not a religious kind of a guy - but do believe in an almighty power. I do spend a lot of my free time ( more then earlier - pre cancer) with my family and also have "adopted" 25 kids with terminal cancer. I support them with all their requirements - food, medicines, finance. I have set up a place where these kids can come and stay ( not just the 25 ). I try and visit them as often as I can and so does my wife and mother. We can all relate to them and I particularly more so. I'd stop looking in a medical book for your answers. I suffer from Hep C, and it is nothing short of stunning to hear some of the things people have lived through. Seriously, if you are religious, then you have to accept that this was not your decision. Not particularly religious? God... When there are no medical explanations, remember the best Dr. When He says it's time to go then it's time and not before. Sometimes God allows us to go through things just to show people that He is still in control and can give hope when the Dr's cant. Spend your time loving your family, friend and life and thank Him for every day. Dont worry about the why. Quite simply put; You don't want to die yet.
It is more concrete than "god has a plan for you" because no one can dipute that you exist or your desire to live is strong. When some people get that kind of news they just give up... Literally.
You have the desire to fight through all adversity that comes your way and whether you wanted it or not you have become an inspiration to those around you.
You are here because of no ones will but your own.

Simply, God made you weak for a while, reminded your family of what it is to pray, and showed you that in the worst moment of your life that you could be strong again. Your experience helps you to understand and to be so giving to the children with cancer and their families. Had you not gone through this maybe those children would have died sooner. You continue to live because, quite simply, it's just not your time to go yet!...God has a plan for all of us. Obviously, He still wants you here! -In cases such as yours, even the non-believers tend to believe. And, no doubt, your good attitude helps as well!

We all ask the "why" of things sometimes. But, the reason behind your existence, isn't as important as the fact that you are here!.....Just go with it, and enjoy each day!!

Well I think, we are all in this place for a reason. You still have a lot to do in this world!
Don't ask how is it possible that you are still alive, be happy and thankfull for it. It was not your time to go. What I would do is just think about anything that could have been missing in your "previous life" and go for it.

I could go on and on...just live and live happy, no matter what.
