Isn't that what god did to adam and eve? They were practically children, they didn't know what's good and what's bad. Who wants such a demented god?

Good point. This 'good loving god' totally set-up Adam & Eve, then blamed THEM for it. It would be like putting crack cocaine in a cookie jar, telling your kids never to eat it, then releasing a clever drug dealer who would try to convince them otherwise.

God specifically told Adam that everything He could freely eat of but the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil He must not eat.

God created them and had fellowship with them. The Bible does not tell all the things that God did with them in the garden of Eden.
