How old are you?

My daughter started to cook at age 7, she is now 13 going on 14 and she has become a really good cook.
You are going to make mistakes and ruin perfectly good food, but thats ok, thats a part of learning.

I started cooking at the age of 10, I am now 35 and I cook like a seasoned chef.
Depends on the experience you desire.
The earlier the better.
If you don't have the desire to be a chef then it is up to you decide whether you want to learn how to cook or not.
I am available for answers if you need cooking tips, recipes, etc.

Ruin what good thing? Your mom cooking for you? Help the lady out, honey. Learn now while she/whoever is there to teach you. And if you're old enough to be on here, you're old enough to be useful in the kitchen.
It's kinda sad seeing 20-somethings on their own for the first time and all they can cook is tomato soup and macaroni & cheese. Don't be one of them.

My daughter is 11 and has been cooking for years!! If your old enough to ask you should know how to cook by now whether you are a boy or a girl!!! Your parents should be ashamed of themselves for not teaching you by now!!

If you like cooking do it as soon as possible, maybe you will ruin some of what you prepare, but you'll learn soon. My advice is to follow the recipes, and as soon as you start cooking you'll acquire experience and as time passes by the dishes you prepare would improve.

You are never too young to start cooking, the more you practice the better your skills will be.
