without parental concent its usually 18....
but personally, i think it has alot to do with the individuals wanting to get married. everyone matures mentally at their own rate, and it really depends on that. i am 22, but my husband is 31. we have been married, since i was 18. it has worked out wonderfully. we are happy together. age is just a number. it all matters how old you are mentally.

Exactly at the age of which you are ready to accept all of life's financial responsibilities, the ability to unconditionally care for another person for possibly the rest of your life, unfair conditions, full household expenses, putting forth unselfish efforts to maintain a loving relationship no matter what life throws your way, learning to accept your spouses family as your own, forgiving and asking for forgiveness repeatedly from here on out, never forgetting to include the other persons opinions & feelings in most decisions that you will make, knowing that you may never be compensated according to your actions, and sometimes still getting the raw end of the deal, and on top of all that, knowing that there is no one else in the world who you would rather do all that and LOTS more with!!!
When you cannot live your life without the presence of the person who helps makes every day worth living. When you know that your love for this person is absolutely unconditional & sincere.

There is no exact age for marriage. Each person matures at a different rate. The best time for marriage is when you, your perspective spouce, and God are all committed to the relationship for a lifetime. There is no giving up, unless someone is unfaithful (not just one fling), abusive ( in any way), and you have made every effort to work it out.
You will truely know when it is right for you, when you are acting out of unselfish love, and according to the will of a Higher Power.

Depending on your age, I would say it is ideal to marry a girl who is 28 if you are 30 or 31. you 25 and her 23, etc
As for the grooms and bride, no age preference

Legally - Each state has a minimum age for marriage.
Morally - when you are ready to dedicate your life to the happiness and welfare of another. When you are ready to accept responsibility for a marriage and family.
Personally - when you are knowledgeable and experienced enough to know that you have found a person you can't imagine living another moment without. You want that person with you no matter how great or bad things are. You want that person to see you through all phases of life - from your current age to the end of life. And you are willing to do the same for that person.

You should get married when you:
1. Find the right person to spend the rest of your life with
2. Are mature enough to accept the responsibility (if you can't picture yourself being a parent, you aren't there yet)
3. Can support yourselves with a reasonable standard of living
I accomplished #3 at 25, #2 at 29 as a result of #1. Your results will vary.

It's different in every state but here in Maine you have to be at least 16 with parental consent...18 without parental consent. And as for the age people should be when they get married it should be the choice of the people getting married. I was 19 when I got married and my husband was 18. I've known people to get married younger than that and people to get married older than that...it's all the choice of the two people who are getting married.

There is no exact age. You should get married when you are ready. If you are ready at 20, go for it. If you aren't ready until 35, thats fine too. As long as you are an adult, you can get married at any age.
