Why would you eat at disgusting KFC anyways? The chicken isnt even really chicken

You mean, am I going to stop eating KFC because they use partially hydrogenated oil?

No.

Have you ever EATEN a piece of KFC? If you didn't know it was the unhealthiest thing you could possibly eat short of just picking up a pile of dookie in a field (and then only arguably) before you put it in your mouth, then you shouldn't be allowed to choose your own food.

The things are dripping with grease! Did anyone think it could ever be anything other than atrociously bad for you?

Oh, and to dispel two rumors...

1) If you've ever actually plucked a chicken, you know KFC doesn't defeather their chickens alive because you have to dunk the things in boiling oil for quite some time in order to loosen the feathers enough to tear them out, which would kill the chicken in the process... and you wouldn't want to start with them alive because it would cause the blood to clot in the chicken meat and completely ruin it. So, you'd have to drain the blood out of the chicken in advance, which would also kill the chicken (and since chickens are killed, as a matter of course, by hanging them upside down by their feet, cutting their throats, and letting the blood drain out, I'm going to bet KFC does it the way everyone else does).

2) The whole "genetically engineered headless, feetless chicken on a shelf" thing... there is no way. First, it would cost much more to keep a chicken on life support than it does to simply chuck grain at the suckers and let them cluck away in a field. Second, their skeletons wouldn't grow correctly. Third, the meat would atrophy on their skeleton and wouldn't yield a usable product. Fourth, there wouldn't be dark meat. The dark meat on a chicken is the result of the amount of exercise those muscle groups get. If they just sat on a shelf, there wouldn't be any dark meat... so yeah, there's just no way that rumor's true, either.

I love KFC extra crispy! Yum!

The PETA thing was a little funny. Having raised chickens myself, I find it interesting that they have a problem with dunking dead chickens in boiling water to remove their feathers. Like the chicken is going to feel that? And, instead of letting the chickens bleed out, they want KFC to kill the chickens by oxygen deprivation, putting them in a room and slowly reducing the oxygen supply. Huh? How will they bleed out? I didn't know what the lawsuit was about, so I looked it up. http://us.ft.com/ftgateway/superpage.ft?news_id=fto061320061727512797 It appears KFC is cooking their chicken in trans fats and not telling people about it. Since trans fats are known to be bad for your body, many people are avoiding foods that contain trans fats, and knowing about this could have benefit to the consumer whereas not knowing could be detrimental. In any case, I, too, am avoiding trans fats and, honestly, I didn't think to be concerned that KFC uses them. It would have been nice to know so that I could decide for myself whether my love of extra crispy was worth ingesting the trans fats. I bet they would have told me if I had asked. I'm not sure the lawsuit is fair.

Yeah, I'm going to eat at KFC. We go by one at a meal time about once or twice a year, so it isn't something I do often. I'll still eat it when I get a chance.

I read a bullentin that said: "they defeather their chickens alive." I am not sure if that is true or not. Papa said it is probably based on fact, and even if it is not, I will not be taking chances. I love animals! So no, and the lawsuit is not helping either. I will never EVER eat there again. Oh, and did you know they are liars, the people that work there? They claim KFC stands for Kitchen Fresh Chicken. It is actually Kentuck Fried Chicken. But in my opinion it stands for Kentuck Fried Cruelty.

No. Well, I wasn't eating there even before the lawsuit. They are animal abusers. It really should be called Kentucky Fried Cruelty.
