Someone in Maine lost control of their boat from putting the anchor in on the stern side instead of the bow side. What does this mean? This was a good sized boat and motor from the pic on tv...

THE BOW IS THE FRONT OF THE BOAT AND THE STERN IS THE BACK.

YOU SHOULD NEVER ANCHOR OUT ON JUST THE STERN, IF YOUR GOING TO ONLY USE ONE ANCHOR ALWAYS ANCHOR OUT ON THE BOW. ONLY ANCHOR OFF THE STERN IF YOU ARE GOING TO ANCHOR OUT THE BOW AS WELL.

ALSO IF YOUR WONDERING, THE PORT SIDE IS THE LEFT SIDE OF THE BOAT AND THE STARBOARD IS THE RIGHT SIDE.
