Well I have been in a long distance relationship for over 1 1/2 years and yes it is really hard. The fact I have not seen him in a year makes it even harder but due to work issues he is always on the go. I guess if you want it bad enough and can deal with it then hang on but ultimately you need to make the choice. I myself have chosen to hold on at least till we see each other which hopefully will be within the next month and then take it from there. Staying in communication is the key too but you need to have the closeness also. I wish you all the luck.

If you two had dated before being long distance you have a better chance

i had a long distance relationship for awhile. But i couldn't take it so i moved back to where he is. We've been together for over two years since the move. And he just asked me to marry him not that long ago

The distance made our relationship stronger...but if it would've stayed that way for too long...who knows how it would've worked out.

You really have to be committed to the relationship, or to an institution.
Long-distance relationships seldom work, but if it is meant to be that you two are to be together, then it will work out.
Put it all in the hands of a Higher Power. Relax, and enjoy what you can of the relationship.

ive been there.... and all i can say is it hard . And sooner or later , if you like each other enough and u would want it to work , U HAVE to move (wel one of uz) , it just doesnt work if u dnt have a plan like that.
The longer u hang on , while also knowing deep down that nuthing going to happen , the more painful it will be.
So good luck girlie

Long distance relationships dont usually last. You grow out of each other, ya know what I mean?

They always are. The constant thought of him/her cheating on you and the distance which means theres no intimacy. I like them personally, but its always so hard to get in contact with them. Some do last but only if you truly love each other. If you dont then forget it.......

You know what they say:

"with a long distance relationship, all 4 of us are happy"

Just kidding, but I dont think it works unless youll be back together shortly...

i've been in a long distance relationship for about ten months now.. and i love this kid with all of my heart. and i intend to be with him as long as he can stand me lol and i think any relationship can work if you really want it to. but if you think that whoever you're dating isn't someone you actually want a future with.. i wouldnt pursue your relationship any further. i mean.. there's no real point is there?

i know how you feel, the longer your together the more difficult it gets to deal with the distance.
i have lived about 6 hours away from my B/F for nearly 14 months and it only gets harder.

they don't work. Everyone knows they don't work.
Just split up and both do your own thing and if you reunite later...let me know because the reuniting thing has never happened to me!!
We both ended up meeting new people and just moving on with our lives.
