Yes mc7e and Jenny G are right. Also Americans tend to leave the knife and fork lying in any direction when they're finished eating, whereas us Brits lay the knife and fork neatly side by side acorss the plate to indicate we have finished eating. They tend to jab at things with their forks more than us too!

yes. Americans tend to always move their fork to their dominant hand after cutting. Brits keep fork in left, and knife in right. It's more efficient.

Yes. Most Americans use their right hands, therefore they cut, then put the knife down, and pick up the fork.
British on the other hand, hold the knife in one hand, the fork in the other, and go at it! They don't switch hands.

My neighbors are British, they eat the same way we do in my household. They do not use their eating utensils differently, now if they were royalty, then maybe! LOL
