ask him out as a friend and then surprise kiss him, and if he jerks back then u just act like nothin happend if he keeps on kissing u then hes still like u
he probably wouldnt turn down a kiss from the prom queen so its kinda difficult to know if he really likes u so...

You are SO shallow. Just GET OVER yourself!! There are things in life that matter SO much more, like trying to help people in need. Try spending your time on a new hobby instead of worrying over petty issues like this. You will wonder years from now why the heck you even cared while you're serving french fries and Big Macs in a red and yellow frock, alone and friendless, because you cared too much about this stuff that nothing else mattered, and everyone remembers you as the snotty, stuck up girl who only cared about herself and her social life!

Seriously, when you become an adult, you'll be amazed that this was even an issue of yours, and it will seem so trivial. As far as the guy, consider his feelings and date him if you sincerely like him, don't do it for superficial reasons. Focus your time and energy on your studies.
