That is an excuse that they come up with, so they excuse themselves from such behavior, the bible condenms it. That clearly shows me that God did not created them that way, they chose to be that way.

Do you believe that God gave you desires to say....to like chocolate or electronics...or lets say tall people. OR did you somehow convince yourself through constant mind power and lies to make you like chocolate...Just because you are attracted to a women or a man is irrelevant...I think the reason it bothers you so much is because it does not fit your pretty little mold in the church and it is something that you just do not understand. There are a lot of things that I do not understand, but that is the way it is...But the reality is that God loves everyone whether they like men or women...and everyone will have their judgement day. It is not your job to judge people, that is Gods job...I came from a Christian school, taught Bible school, gradauted from college, and have a family with children and I have a lot of good friends that are gay. The first thing I would tell you is that read the bible, God did make everyone different...not one the same. And second is....Would God want to point fingers at people or open your arms to others?

I have to assume that you are attracted to both sexes since you believe it is a choice. This is not the case with a large percentage of people. They are either attracted to one or the other. There is no changing something like this. God made us all...just as we are. I realize to someone who is attracted to both sexes, that this would be confusing and you might think, "well I can go both ways and I feel I have chosen the right way. Why can't those people "choose" correctly." Because for most of us, it is not a choise.
Nobody wants to be gay in the beginning, nobody wants to be different, nobody wants to be an outcast.
I've prayed for God to take it away from me, all of my life. I would change it, if I could. It has been a nightmare, because of closed minded people who think they know God's will.
Tis my heavy cross to bear......take your foot off the scale.

Really! Perhaps it is the straights that are fooling themselves. They do after all have anal sex too. Why is it wrong to be born who you are? Try this,in the beginning there was no birth control. If you were the creator, how would you stop humans from overpopulating the only world that we have? Put the shoe on the other foot. Someone said that you were wrong for being straight. Your are straight because you were taught to be. Many good things get passed down. Unfortunately so are bad ones. Peace.

No, but it does bother me when religious bigots justify their bigotry by claiming to speak for an invisible mega-being. That is just ridiculous!!
I believe that christians fool themselves a lot to try to justify what they are doing. They lie to fool themselves so much until they sincerely believe what they are saying.
It's really sad.

Don't you get enough of this in the GLBT section?
In a section where people want to explore religion and spirituality I would think you could leave the hate and ugliness elsewhere.
Give it a break, hunny. Seems you didn't get any more support here than you do in the gay section.
No matter how you phrase the question, straight bigots will think that gay people woke up one day and thought it would be fun to be one of the most hated groups in the nation... and straight people at some point CHOSE not to.
Reality is so much better.

This is nothing but close minded bigotry. People are going to be who they are and trying to oppress people and discriminate against them because they aren't heterosexual and they are different from you is nothing but prejudice. The bigotry of racism, not liking somebody simply because they are of a different race, is the same as the bigotry against people because their sexual orientation happens to be different from yours or the mainstreams. Until we learn to accept people for who they are instead of what we want them to be based on religious reasons and close mindedness, then we will never live in a just world, where everyone is given the same rights and freedoms no matter their sexual orientation or race or any other foolish reason. Freedom isn't for all, unless all of the citizens share the same freedoms, irregardless of who or what they are. Thats called justice, and true freedom, if thats what we value as a society, and rightly so. Also most gay people know they are gay either just before or during puberty, just like straight people. Their sexuality takes shape at the same time as heterosexual people's, so you tell me? Sexuality is a fluid thing and isn't written in concrete, and people vary from Straight to Bisexual to Gay depending on how they want to live their life. In the end, people's personal lives are just that.. Personal. Let's keep it that way, and maybe the Government and the religious right can keep their noses out of people's bedrooms, where they don't belong. Lets act like adults please.

I agree with you 95%. I do believe a few men are born to be homo's. You know the few, the ones that have always been ...um....strange. But that is the few, not the majority. I truly believe most homosexuality is learned behavior. Some men go into prison straight, and come out extremely gay, after being forcably raped thousands of times. Nowadays the gay movement is gaining strength. Hollywood is behind them 100%, (and I mean that literally when I say behind them). People are beginnning to think being gay is the latest trendy thing to be. Some people think that, anyways.
To the homosexual, sex revolves around everything he/she stands for. Hetro people dont call themselves hetro's like homos call themselves gay. I dont identify my sexual origin, or even think about it, unless asked. It's just not that important too me. Thats what is so sad about the gay movement. They think only in terms of sexuality. They equate sexuality to race, religion, sex (male or female), and national origin. They compare their struggle for "rights" with afro american slavery/discrimination, not realizing how much black people are offended by the comparison. Gay people have faced nothing in comparison to the african american struggle, and I find such rhetoric insulting if not plain idiotic. A person chooses sexuality, but cannot possibly choose race, sex, national origin, etc.
Yeah right, blame it all on God. Whats funny is, most Atheists dont even believe in God, but they'll for damn sure use his name to further their own cause.

That's great! So, you're the official spokesperson for God, eh? Could you ask God for me why my friend is dying? She's still fairly young and also a good Christian. She used to go to church all the time but now her pastor has to visit her in the nursing home because she's too weak. Since you seem to be so in touch with The Almighty and know what He thinks I'm sure you have an answer for me.

It has been proven scientifically that some people are born with their body chemicals a little screwy. And sometimes they are so messed up that they actually tell the body to be attracted to the same sex. Just the same way that most of us are told to be attracted to the opposite sex. Now, just because their chemicals are all wierd does not mean that they have to go sleep with or become involved with a person from the same sex. That is a personal decision. On that same note if your body told you to be attracted to the same sex would you ignore it and be with someone that you are "suppose" to be with or be happy with a compatible person and know that God would forgive you?

No God did not make them that way, they do not have any kind of dna that makes them that way. 1 Corinthians 6:9; 1 Tim 1:8-11 (ver 10 covers homosexuality) Lev 18:22 and many more.
