Age is just a number. I know a couple who met and married in their 70's and they both act like they are 20 plus. Maybe you're just looking in the wrong places.

A good man is hard to find at any age, but it is harder the older you get. At our age, there's usually a reason why they (and we) are single. If you go younger (my last bf was six years younger than I) their priorities are often different from ours, which can cause conflict.

My perspective is that I need to take care of myself, and my son. If and when I am ready for another relationship, the opportunity will present itself. Until then I need to take the lessons I've learned from my past relationships, so that if I'm ever in another serious relationship, I'll be less likely to make the same mistakes.

You've answered your own question. They're either married or wanting to have an affair. Unfortunately for you, you've gone a little beyond the finish line of dating.

I don't know if you're looking for someone younger or older, but if older, then someone in their 40's still single, probably doesn't want to be married or committed and is just a player.

If you're looking for younger, unless you're a hot momma, I don't think that many younger guys are looking for older women.

Because in the total population of guys in their 40s, most are either married, liars, or both.

I know a lot of guys in their 40s who complain that all the available women aged 40 have two kids and lots of emotional baggage.

I guess you have to open a lot of oysters before you get a pearl.

Good luck finding Mr. Right.

The problem doesnt start when in the 40's but way before then. However, in their 40's men are at their mid life crisis period and will do what ever is needed to survive it (whether it be lying, cheating or manipulating).

By the time you reach your forties all the good ones are taken, all the bad ones are dead, and all the ones in between are jaded to gold diggers.

well to be honest, u have not searched enough. I would have loved to have a companion even after 40 after all we humans are love fools. We need it to survive our stay on this planet. Lonliness ofcourse is my best friend but then again... i would betray lonliness for a companion...;-)

Because there are 100 bad seeds and 1 good seed and you just need to find that 1 good seed.
