prefer singletrack, moderate technical difficulty, moderate climbing ok, views, scenery, rides "not to be missed" if one is in the SF area

Need a good shop with decent bikes--dual susp preferable--can't take my own
Can't be too much more than a 1/2 day round trip away--got business during working hours.
At this point, I won't have a car and will need to rely on public transport/cabs/shuttles.

Would consider getting a car for a spectacular ride, though

thanks in advance for help anyone can provide.

in case you elect all-in-one superstores, you bypass right down to South San Francisco the position you'll locate purpose and ok Mart and (perchance Walmart) and those form of shops, probable is a dollar save round there too, the position you'll get low-cost stuff. i have never been because it really is out of my way. some human beings purchase in bulk at Costco. There are supermarkets round, Safeway, CalMart, some others that still have not lengthy gone out of agency. And there are better end nutrition shops like dealer Joe's and total ingredients and Nobhill ingredients, and Bristol Farms (i imagine it quite is the call) the position you'll pay a better value yet can get organic and organic and different ingredients that do not come from the nutrition conglomerates. We study a thanks to budget better appropriate and to no longer positioned money into frivolous stuff so that you may have sufficient money to purchase in the better appropriate shops. And for us, that's amazingly everyday.

there are plenty of bike rental stores around SF. The store on Stanyan near Kezar have a big variety of bike and I'm sure they have some. If not there, you can try the ones near the wharf or the one in stow lake in golden gate park.
