I was looking for a movie projector that can be used in a fairly large/medium basement. I wanted to get good connectivity options (S-Video/Optical Audio Output/Cable Connectivity/PC Connectivity) as well as bright picture clarity together with less fan noice and less heat and reliability. Also I wanted to keep it below $1,200. May be I'm asking more but if anyone knows of a projector that I want, would be much appreciated.

InFocus Screenplay 4805 DLP projector. I have one and it is like watching a 9-ft plasma tv. It needs to be fairly dark though, so light controll is needed.

You can get a good InFocus Projector at Best Buy for around that price. If there is'nt much ambient light in the basement (eg. no windows) then you only need a projector with about 1200 lumens or so. The lumens (the brightness of the bulb) is what you pay for. Well that and the connection options. Make sure and use a good screen such as a Da-lite screen with a cinematic coating on it. These are rather costly. Or you could use a DLP projector paint such as one made by Goo Systems (goosystems.com) to paint a screen on your wall. Use the digital gray topcoat and basecoat. Bordering this with black wood trim creates a great effect (I have installed them in Churches and homes). Hope this helps!
