Be glad that your mom is there for you, So many of us grew up without caring parents. You only get to be a child once, so make the most of it and soak up all the love. Most of the time when parents are overprotective its for a very good reason, and sometimes the parents do not want to share that reason. I have 3 kids of my own, And when my son gets mad because i wont let him play outside after dusk I dont tell him "I dont want someone to Kidnap you" I just tell him its because i said so. If all else fails ask your mother to talk about it, just dont make a fight about it, After all she is your mother, and usually they know best :)

I agree with the first answerer. You need to prove to her that you're not in any way a baby. My english teacher always said that if you get good grades, you parent's shouldn't be involved in your schooling as much. The same applies here. Prove you're responsible.

Act like an adult and you'll be treated like an adult. Whining is not going to impress her.
Accept your home responsibilities and take care of them without having to be told a dozen times.
Remind her of your needs in advance and not the morning of the event.
Call when you are supposed to and come home on time.
Most of this depends on you.

How old are you to begin with?
Mothers are scared that their children will get hurt, in some matter. Remember it is not that she is trying to baby you, she feels that she needs to keep you safe, and protected from harms way.

Well I hope your mom stops loving you, and kicks you out of the house so you can live on the street like a dog.
Would you like that better?

It all depends on how old you are, With all the dangers out there sometimes we are a little over prtective with our kids, we just don't want to loose them.

Maybe she loves you and wants the best for you. She knows the dangers in the world and wants to protect you from them until you are old enough to do it yourself.

when you calm down you can always try talking to her about it in a calm sensible proffesional adult manner. It always works better than flying off the handle in a flaming ball of rage.

A mother cannot be overprotective. Enjoy being cared for. There are so many people who have no one who cares about them. You are extremely fortunate.
