Have you seen a doctor? If you are making a lot of effort with no to little progress you might (emphasis on that word "might") have a physical condition that prevents you from losing weight. I have thyroid issues that affect my weight. there are many medical conditions that affect weight issues.

Alot of this has to do with what you are eating. Just because you think you are eating the right things does not mean you will just automatically lose weight.
Give it time, your body is still changing though it probably does not feel like it. Eat a healthy balance diet and drink water. But don't deprive yourself of your favorite foods! Enjoy life! Life is more important than how you look. Im sure your a great person, and these 20 pounds seem so important right now, but its just a couple of pounds. Get up and eat a good breakfast, drink juice and water, workout and enjoy life. Everything happens at its time.

Weight loss is pretty simple. Calories in. Calories out. If you spend more calories than you consume, then you will lose weight.

There are lots of parts to this.

1. Eat quality food. Whole wheat. Lean meat. Lots of veggies.
2. Exercise smart. Resistance + cardio.
3. Resting metabolism. It's just higher for some people. It's genetics. Sorry. Some people try to crash diet to lose weight. This works for a few weeks, then it doesn't work anymore. It stops working because if you don't eat, your resting metabolism slows way down.

Change the type of workout. If your running, try biking or swimming. Add some weight training to your workout. Most people who lose weight go through this. Your body has gotten used to what your doing, time to switch things up. After 3 weeks go back to your old routine for cardio, you probably can keep the weight training.

Drink lots of water, eat six small meals a day (seriously) Make sure you are getting lots of protein and fiber. Drink water with lemon to help reduce water weight. (lemon and tomatoes are natural diuretics) Don't eat after 6pm, it is harder for your body to digest it before you go to bed, and therefore will likely be stored as fat. Stay away from anything with corn in it. Corn has a bad way of hanging onto fat. If you eat salad, make sure you get rid of iceburg lettuce and instead use romaine and spinach leaves. They have more nutritional value. Maybe you need to do more cardio. But since I don't know what you do for exercise, it's hard to help you there!
I have a lot more info, but it's not anything I can point you to (such as a website)

Here is what you need to do, if you are serious about losing weight and keeping it off. Eat 6 small meals a day about every 4 hours. Here what that will do for you, your metabolism will increase (i.e. Loose weight) and you will have more engry. If you go on a diet and eat less, your metabolism will slow down and store to fat. That is why diets dont work. Only the size of your fist, carbs (examples:baked potato, pasta, oatmeal, beans, corn, melon, apples, fat free yogurt, whole wheat breads)in one and protien (examples:chicken breast, swordfish, shrimp, turkey breast) in the other. You can also eat vegetables and salads with any meal, they dont have none or little fat). 30min cardo exercise every day. Any of these(examples: walking, jogging, swimming, running, biking, ect), Monday cardo, tues upper body (arms: curls, tricep extensions, pull ups, front press)(abdominals: leg pull crunch, leg raises), (chest: bench press, butterfly, pullover)(shoulders: front press, arm pullover, cross county skier machine)(back:seated row, lat pull downs, back extension)(YOU DONT HAVE TO DO IN ONE DAY, mix it up) wed cardo, thurs lower body (legs: leg pull, leg press, squats, lounges) fri cardo, sat upper. Sunday eat anything you want and dont exercising, you do this on sunday so your body doesnt go into starvation mode. YOU NEED TO TAKE SUNDAY OFF. If you stilck with this you will have a great body. also drink aleast 8oz of water daily! Stay away from Mcdonals, Wendys, ect because there is nothing good for you on the menu's even the salads are bad (beaon bits, cheeze, dressing, ect) Good Luck :)

It sounds like you're trying to lose the weight the right way. If the diet and exercise don't help, I would suggest you get a thyroid test, that way you can see if your metabolism is working the right way. It may be underactive. Also, I would watch out foodwise when it comes to anything starchy, like pasta or potatoes. Watch your carbs (bread) and sugar (soda), and basically your food portions. Drink lots of water.
I'm trying to lose, too! : ) Best of luck!

I would advise you to run a lot. It helps build muscle and allows you to burn fat...and running outside as opposed to on a treadmil is better because of the running surface. You should do some weight training as well, because the more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn. And also, muscle is a lot heavier then fat so you might weigh 140 but look great.

Everything you have been taught about eating has caused obesity to surpass hunger and infectious disease as the leading health problem in the world according to Atlantic magazine. You need to re-learn everything and consume less anti-water. See site below.
