Would it make you feel better if they called it "Usually non-lethal"
In many situations for law enforcement, the taser is still the best option to resolve a situation, i.e. take a violent suspect into custody, without having to shoot him or beat him half to death.

First of all anyone that is tasered is usually someone so high or strung out that they are trying to run. If they had not broken the law to begin with they wouldn't be in the situation to get tasered. No one ever dies from the taser. They die from taking so many drugs that their bodies can not handle the shock. Officers are out there putting their lives on the line all the time and people think they can just go around breaking law. Trust me, I know officers and they are not bad people, they are the ones keeping bad people off the street as much as they can. If you ask me scum that they have to deal with, taser is going easy on them. So what if we lose a few here and there. That is that much less scum on the street. It isn't like it is some grandma or nun that they are arresting. It is some low life.

Still safer than a bullet being fired or holds to subdue being exerted with too much force--the purpose of the taser is to give police a less risky means to subdue a person doesn't mean its totally risk free and the best thing anyone can do is not to give cause and if a taser is being used then the person needs to stay down---the deaths that have occurred are due to being tasered over and over again because the person kept fighting struggling.-not smart when you're being shocked and surrounded by police.

They're not being used by any law enforcement agency in my area, the local police department and sheriff's department stopped using them after some legal problems caused by misuse. (administering repeated stun gun and taser shocks to an unconscious epileptic)
Low lethality would be a better designation, I've survived shocks of over 30,000 volts at over one ampere with nothing more than burns and pulled muscles from the involuntary contactions all over my body. (yes, it hurts. :( ) an overweight, doped up and stressed subject may die from a shock, but he could also die from a heart attack or stroke while resisting officers.

because they work,
they are only used on people who are refusing to obey the legal demands of a police officer and where other forms of force can and may be used.
next police officers normally in thier training have to have someone taser them to learn how they work ( and they hurt I have been hit by them several times)
And they are less lethal, than a night stick (baton) hitting the person, Remember if the person was obeying the law and obeying the police officer they would not get it used on them, so they cause the event, they are not a victim of its use they are the cause of the use.
They save alot of officers alot of injury and save alot of suspects alot of injury over all.
And of course overall studies have proved them safe, you will always find groups that don't accept all findings.
Perhaps that is how Gore did his global warming, he shoped around and found studies that agreed with him, and did not use the US study that said it was only about 1 degree in 100 years,

i'd say a Colt 1911 chambered in .40 5 ACP (computerized Colt Pistol). because it replaced into followed through the protection pressure in 1911, that is been used with distinction between semi-automobile pistols with a really lengthy service existence ending because the conventional service pistol in 1985 (even compared to the Beretta style ninety 2 or M9, which has also been round for a lengthy time period). they're captivating firearms, and if dealt with properly, continuously artwork. you could personalize them in distinct strategies (as with each) with a ramped and polished barrel feed, factors of interest, grips, set off, protection (inclusive of an ambidextrous which makes it easier to take off the protection from both palms grip), beaver-tail protection, and magazines (which are available in 7, 8, and 10 round capacities), and exteriors (blued, 2-toned, stainless, nickel, problematical-chromed, etc.) If he had a secondary pistol, i'd recommend a Smith & Wesson Governor chambered in .40 5 ACP, .40 5 lengthy Colt, and 410 (a shotgun shell). because of that is versatile chambering, and the apparent deadliness in close quarters with the shotgun round, that's a pistol typically used at the same time as/if a perp keeps coming and also you want a coup de grace gun. sturdy success, and that i wish i replaced into useful.

I'm guessing they're alot safer than a BULLET! Given a choice, I'll take the taser. There are one heckuva lot of crazy criminals, what's a cop to do?

I would rather them use a "unproven" taser, than a "proven" 9mm.

because crying liberals don't let us use guns to shoot people who run from the police...if it where up to me...i would let the police shoot to kill every person who tries to flee...tasers are more acceptable...
