The official "Best Tasting Beer in the World" title would have to go to the Belgian trappist monks from the abbey at St. Sixtus. They brew Westvleteren 12, a beer that will truly change your life...if you can get your hands on some, that is! It is possible, though, so get a move on...

There is no correct answer to this question. Everyone has their favorite because taste buds are different on everyone, or else we would all be drinking the same beer and all the rest would go out of business. What food do you really hate,,,other people love it,,get the point? Most people don't care about a good tasting beer, they just don't want one that tastes bad as they get their buzz.

This Belgian raspberry beer is made via an open fermentation process and is about $7-8 for a 12 oz bottle in the US. Amazing taste. Bright red in color with pink foam, looks great in a pilsner glass and has higher alcohol content than many well known beers. Doesn't compare to any beer I have ever had. It is like a dessert.

That Belgian Raspberry beer (and other flavours) is called a Framboise. Excellent choice. The best is made by Belgian monks. Hell, any beer made by Belgian monks is pretty stellar.
Like Chimay (Blue or Red Label).
EDIT:
After some research, Framboise is a RASPBERRY flavoured Lambic (which is the beer base). The above link (very useful) points to a rather nice Framboise.

There are over 30 styles of beer with 3-5 sub-styles for each. And for each category of beer, the best is subjective at best. There are so many beers because there are so many places in the world that love beer. So what's the best beer? Charlie Papazian said it best:
"The best beer is always the one in my hand."

I am not a huge beer drinker, but I have heard Samuel Adams is one of the best beers you can buy from the supermarket. The best of the best of course are from the breweries who brew their own beers like Squatters. Pale Ales are the best if you do not like the stouts, the dark beers which can be very overpowering.

It really depends on what your in the mood for. Some days you will need a light, refreshing beer, while others you will need a beer with a stronger character. Some great ones, in my opininon are:
Guinness
Montejo
Boddington's
Negra Modelo
Old Speckled Hen
Many Belgian Lambics
etc.
