It's routine. Pyscologist people say that talking about suicide does not encourage one to do it. I don't know if I agree. Either way, It's standard procedure, because if you do, then he has to take action accordingly.

I think they want you to say yes i do think of it all the time so they can put you in a psy. ward. Ive been asked that question by 3 different so-called Dr. and ever time i end up in a psy ward. So now if they ask me that i ..( JUST SAY NO) I think the Dr. must be getting a kick back from the hospital for putting me in there, But that just my thoughts on it.

they usually ask if you have ever thought about killing yourself, did you tell him or her that you do or don't. is it a family psychologist maybe your parents told him you had problems.
