Well it looks like I have to get rid of my kitten. My fiance is toooooo allergic. I dont want to just give her away b/c I spent too much money on the stuff I bought her (big bed, kennel, toys, etc..) Should I place a add in the paper, or is there a place I can go? I'm not too attatched to her yet, better now than later.

I'd suggest placing an ad in the paper and on craigslist.org. You can sell the items on craigslist.org, too- people are always looking for pet beds and toys.

I don't think it's a good idea to take the cat to a pound- it'll most likely get euthanized.

Hoobly.com Great classified ad site. Please don't list her as "free to good home" though, ask some sort of adoption fee even if you end up not taking it in the end. There are so many bad people out there that scoop up the "free" animals for all sorts of bad things.
If you really don't want to get rid of her though, try some of the products out there that help with the dander. I know there is a wipe on product that is supposed to cut the dander level way down and may make it possible for your fiance and the kitty to coexist. Worth a try before you just give up.

I think you should give the kitten (and its stuff) to a close family member or friend. Then you can still see the kitten every once and a while. If thats not a option becasue family lives to far away, the humane society would gladly take the stuff and donate it to homes where the kittens dont have anything nice. They would also take your kitten and find him or her a nice home!

Good luck to you and your kittie! Also good luck on getting married soon!

Over time your fiance will build up a tolerance to it, and that is what Allegra and Claritin is for, but if you insist on giving the animal away......Call your local shelter or rescue, tell them your situation, and make sure that the items that you bought for kitty, are part of the package deal for the adoption. Or, call your local vet, some do adoptions as well.

Aww - sorry to hear that...

You can ask friends or family...

Make homemade posters and pin up at local grocery stores...

Place an ad

If there are children in the home:
Ask how old...little ones need constant supervision while around kittens to prevent the animal from getting hurt accidentally..

Ask if the person has other pets...

**Just feel comfortable with the decision on who you feel will provide a good home!**

Good Luck!!

Seems like the allergy could have been a forseeable problem....

Try your vets office. They might be able to "show" her there and find her a home -- they're good at that. They can also direct you to cat/kitten rescues and adoptions. Please DO NOT put an add in the paper or elsewhere -- there are baaaaaaaaad people out there. And please also don't take her to a shelter unless absolutely necessary.

I'd place an ad in the paper at least you can meet the person who will be taking the kitten.

Place an ad and pick a good new person to take her. Sorry to hear you have to do that because of bf allergies. I have a cat and my son has allergies but he takes a Claritin each day (over the counter now) and seems to control it.

give the kitty away to a good home for free with all you have bought for your kitty... this way you know your kitty has a good start with the new home
