i would say just to enjoy yourself. in elementary school you are too young to do much and in high school things get complicated. you should just enjoy the time you have being inbetween and dont try to grow up too fast. also make sure you always wear deoderant. i know that is a little off topic but please.... puberty + sweat = disaster!

Ahh, middle school. I remember those days. It gets crazy when you hit high school, but here are a few pointers.
1. Be yourself and don't conform. It's hard not to because you wanna fit in. You'll be glad you didn't later on down the road.
2. Don't pick on other kids. That stuff really hurts people's feelings and makes you look like a moron.
3. Do your work and try to excel as best you can. This will build good study habits for high school.
4. Learn how to balance your social life and your school work. They're both important, so don't neglect either one of them.
5. Don't let yourself be absorbed by one clique. Be like I was and surround yourself with ALL the different types of students. This way you'll learn and absorb a lot more from different individuals.
I hope this helps. Middle and high school can be fun as long as you make it that way. Good luck!

the best advice that i could give you is to do what you want to do. And not do something that you will later regret not doing. Like if you are thinking of playing football or basketball....try it....and if you don't like it then you don't have to do it the next year. You did it for a year and you knew what it was about and later on in life you won't be asking yourself "i wonder what it would have been like if i played that or if i was in band or in a certain club. The start of my middle school where i come from all the schools came together ie. there were 3 elementary schools where i live and all 3 of us came together as one and those are the people i went to high school with. So the people you previously went to school with might not be friends with you anymore. thats just a heads up. you will lose and gain friends. it happend to me and it will happen to everyone. but the best friends will stay with you your whole life. So do things with no regrets and don't let a girl get in the way of your studies. there is way more time to do that later on. you are young and have more important things to worry about "where should we go" when one of your parents will more than likely have to take you.
best of luck

I am a high/middle school band director from Georgia.
Here are some tips for a student starting middle school.
#1 - Don't worry about being cool.
Being cool seems to be the most important thing about middle school to most students, but it really doesn't matter. You'll be amazed at how, once students get to 9th or 10th grade, it suddenly seems stupid to care about who's cool and who's not. Also, sometimes trying to look cool or be cool can get you in trouble, so its best just not to try, just be yourself!
#2 - Find friends you relate to and have stuff in common with.
Despite being shy or nervous, try and talk to people the first week. Middle school is when people start to develop friendships they sometimes carry through the rest of their lives. Try and become friends with others who share similar interests as yourself, and aren't troublemakers.
#3 - Don't stress!
Always do your best, but don't get stressed out or scared that you're not going to do well. Pay attention to your teachers, and DONT FORGET ABOUT ASSIGNMENTS, and you'll do great.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

OK I recently finished middle school so I might be able to help. One you might want to ask yourself what you would like to do in the future. For me I chose to be an automotive engineer. If you take courses in the things you like you can motivate yourself. In numerous ways. If you want tips on how to avoid fight and bullies I can also easily assist you with that. First if you encounter somebody who tends to bother you then try to stay away from them. If you cannot tell a teacher or a responsible adult. Don't think that if you tell on someone that they are going to get you back that is not always the case because for each of your classes a teacher is watching you. If you need help in achieving your goals just know that middle school was easy for me and it should be pretty easy for someone who desires a challenge from school. Also middle school is just another step in life the quicker you finish the better of you are.

Well, you'll either be made fun of or make fun of others... one or the other. It's kinda cruel and there's a lot of pressure. You'll have a lot of homework and not as much freedom in your school day. It'll either be really fun, or really bad... your close friends might stop being friends and you'll make new ones, or you'll keep your friends and make more on top of that. Just be nice to everyone, you can't lose... and do your homework or your life will be a little harder... and don't worry about detention it isn't scary... it's nothing but boring.

you should just be yourself and not get caught up in the scam of popularity. it's really easy to say that, but it's harder than you'd think to do. the popular kids are going to change, and you'll wear yourself out trying to keep up with all that stuff. just chill and be yourself. get decent grades, and stay out of trouble. and don't spend all that time obsessing over whether you have a girlfriend or boyfriend or whatever. it really isn't worth it, you should be doing what makes you happy, not what is socially accepted.
