What is the craziest lie you have ever told? Did you get away with it?

My craziest lie? Well, I told it when I was ten. I really wanted to go to this party my friend was holding. But my mom didn't allow me to because my grandma was coming to visit on that day. So i told this really big lie to my friend - that I was going to America to attend a movie premier that day,and it was too good an oppurtunity to miss. I said that I would be away for three days. The party was on a Sunday, and school started the next day, and so I had to find a way to miss school on Monday and Tuesday. Luckily, I got sick on Sunday, and didn't return to school until Wednesday. When I returned, almost the whole class screamed out their questions in front of the teacher, and the teacher was really surprised. Then after class, during our lunch break, the class asked me about the teacher's weird reaction. They thought that I would have told the teacher about the movie premier thing. I said that I did, and that the teacher had asked me to keep this secret from as many people as possible, and that she had acted surprised because she wanted the class to think that I was lying, which I was. I got away with it. It was so cool, because I then became the most popular girl in school until the next year.

I lied to my friends about how me and my lover (***** buddy, whatever...) started seeing each other. I initated the entire thing, about a month before I told anyone. They found out, and I lied and made this whole story about us running into each other when I was drunk and needed a lift. Not really a crazy lie, but it was pretty involved.
