What worked for me was the follwing.

1200 Calories per day
20 grams of fat per day

My menu was mostly turkey sandwiches, salads, soups, lean meats chicken, or even lean steak cooked with pam and seasonings and lemon juice (its pretty good). Light yogurt or sugar free jello for desert. And most importantly excercised every day with walking workout videos. Sometimes twice a day.

I lost 25 pounds in 3 1/2 months. 8 the first month, 7 the second
and 10 the last 6 weeks.

eat smaller portions. exercise rigorously if you want but i suggest you starting working out everyday for an hour or so. it doesn't have to be heavy stuff. just make sure to not break the habit before september. oh ya... walk a lot. i heard that by walking 2000 steps a day will lose a lot of calories. i don't know if it's true but it won't hurt to try. it'll be good for your health, anyway. good luck.

Run a lot. It truly helps, especially if you don't want to change what you are eating. Eat a lot of protein and carbs...I know that people say that carbs are bad, but not when exercising. You need carbs to have a lot of energy and you need the protein in your body to store the carbs for a longer amount of time giving you more energy.

Do like I did, either go to garynull.com or Beach Body.com. I only know of these because I've used both and believe me their methods are healthy and they work. Sept. goal? Not a problem.
