Yes. I am a black female, my husband of 13 years is white. I like rap and 70's music he likes Abba and The Beach Boys. He is very quite, I am outgoing. He was born in Canada. I am from here in the Great U.S. of A. How more opposite can a couple get.
We married on our third date. Did I mention it's been 13 years? lol. We have four beautiful children. We have a good life. Great jobs and teach our kids the value of family, education, love, loyality, respect and hard work. Yes, opposites make the best attractions.

They do in a way as someone shy tends to find a partner who is extrovertish, the bully the victim, the carer someone needy...
So we balance what we lack.
But, I also prefer the view that we should be whole first, and then attract another whole for perfect happiness. These are the best relationships where two people complement each other rather than linking what they lack.

Just as in magnets, in people they do attract also. I think as humans, we tend to gravitate to the ones that are not exactly like us, but are on the other spectrum as us.
If the opposition is a compliment to you, then it's a plus. Example, if you're an introverted person who takes a long time to warm up to someone, you might want to date a extrovert who talks with people quick so that as a couple, you will then warm up to other people faster.
If you're polar opposites, then that could be trouble. Say you're not experienced or wild in the sack, but for whatever reason someone who is wild and experimental in bed attracts you. You may at first enjoy being with that person, but after a few crack of the nuke in bed, you or your partner might start losing interest in each other.

Yes, it's true. My fiance and I are very opposite on many things, but we are happier because of it. If you push a magnet towards another magnet at the same polar end, they push away from each other. If you push two magnets together at the opposite polarity, then they stick together. It's sort of like that in love. Whenever I hear someone say, "but we had so much in common, why didn't it work," I feel a bit sad for them. But, it failed because when you have too much in common with someone, for whatever reason, you wind up getting on each other's nerves.

I would say absolutely, my husband of five years we've been together for eight. We are totally different, he is laid back and a homebody, he is not emotionally driven, and he thinks with his mind. I on the other hand, am outgoing and love to be out and about, I am very emotionally driven and I think with my heart. For a bit we thought we were to different, but we've found that we make each other better people, we balance each other out and we have each other to view situations differently. Every relationship has to get passed the love love stage and get really before you know if it will work.

yes they do. but they dont last. if you are too different from each other, in the beginning it might add some spices, but in the long term, its only gonna translate into arguments, and disagreement along with different wishes clashing,.best example i have, my mother is married with my stepfather, they have 0 passion in common, completely different personality. their couple is one of the most boring, and superficial. they say i love you to each other, yet they never do anything together. its all fake. my stepdad is with my mom because she is pretty, and my mom is with my stepdad because he has lots of money. if it wasnt for that. the differences would break their couple.
If you want a passionate couple, find someone like you, find someone who shares the same passions and dreams. and duh, thats just logical in the end. a flame doesnt burn stronger from having water poured on it, it burns stronger from having more fire .
