Boy, you better check with a pool supply store or do some research on the web. I have a friend who lives in California and has a salt filter to cleanse the water, but I don't know how that works unless everything is nonmetal. I wouldn't think of putting salt water in my pool here on the East Coast for fear of the salt corroding and ruining the metal motor parts and the other components of the pool that are metal. I have a pretty old pool, though.

Unless your pool filter and pump are set up for salt water, it's likely to eat through and ruin them very quickly.
