From a legal perspective, the laws vary from state to state. Some allow it, some don't.

From a societal standpoint- the guy can date the girl, but not if he expects to go without judgement and critism.

From a developmental standpoint, both persons are at very different stages in their lives, and both stages change rapidly, at different rates. If a 21 year old man finds that he is on the same level as a 15 year old person, he needs to consider other aspects of his life before he considers dating ANYONE of ANY AGE.

The 15 year old is not "mature for her age". There is no such thing. No person who was "mature for their age" at 15 stays that way when they turn 21. As a matter of fact, most look back and say, "Oh, god, what was I thinking?"

A six year difference between two people CAN be huge- I say 'can' because a 30 year old woman and a 36 year old man have pretty much developed their personality, their mind, and their outlook at that point. Most of us do so in our late twenties.

Six years between people UNDER 25 or thereabouts proves disastrous- both people change so much so fast.

If I were the girl, I'd wonder what on earth a 21 year old man wants from a 15 year old.

NO. The only thing a 21 yr old guy can do with a 15 yr old girl will get him put in jail. I think it is a bad idea to get into this kind of a relationship.

no not legally, he could go to jail, a fifteen year old is still by law a minor and unable to make certain decisions if the girl was of legal age then there would be no question because she would be considered a consenting adult. i have a friend that is in his forties and is dating a 23 year old. i have a real problem with that. I have read all the other answers in here and i agree with every one of the previous answers to the max. I definitely would not want my young daughter dating a guy that much older than she, when she is still a child.

Can or should? Who's taking advantage of who? Is he going for you because your cute and have a great personality or is it to control you? 15 year olds are push overs. I remember thinking it would be so cool to date an older man. But does he have good intentions?

It is illegal, but I guess he can at his own risk. It is my opinion that a 21 year old MAN really has no business being romantically involved with a 15 year old CHILD.
